Will be responsible for facilitating and managing all aspects of shipping and delivery in line with industry standards and to ensure full customer satisfaction.
Key Accountabilities:
- Identity and negotiate rates with carriers for local and overseas shipments
- Arrange transportation and schedule deliveries to meet work requirements
- Organize shipment inline with set processes to avoid quality control issues
- Provide routing information and shipping instructions to ensure on-time and accurate deliveries
- Prepare accurate shipping documents for custom clearances for import, export, and re-export
- Ensure any logistics problems that may arise are resolved to avoid delays
- Liaise with forwarders and accounts department to secure adequate and timely payments
- Manage distribution and shipping budgets
- Maintain records and ensure correct cost allocation in terms of orders and projects
- Continuous review of freight charges and transportation rates, to achieve sustainable savings, where possible
- Ensure all activities are in compliance with the Company HSE policies and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize processes
- Set up and monitor delivery KPI’s (such as DIFOT) to ensure customer satisfaction
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree
- Background in the Chemicals field covering export and planning, regulatory understanding etc
- 3-5 years of experience
